So, Monday was such a big day that we ran out of energy to blog last night! But, here’s how it went….
After a solid day of collecting donations in our booth, we decided to take a past campers tip, and raid the cafeteria folks. In my biggest outdoor voice, I announced to everyone that we wanted to perform a “1 Minute Miracle” by seeing how much chance we could collect in 1 minute. We gave them time to dig deep into their pockets, Calvin started the timer, and I ran around with a tin, grabbing all the money! It was awesome – people dug into their pockets, held up their money, and beckoned us to come take it! One girl was even so worried that I wouldn’t make it back to her end of the caf by the end of the minute, that she offloaded her change to one of my partners in crime! Grand total = $63.41!
Plus, whenever you need a financial boost, who you gonna call? Your parents! Cal’s family wrote us a few nice cheques, and my parents sent money from Manitoba, so that helped boost our daily total to $492!
